Our project pattern gives options for making Uncle Sam as a flag holder or a sign holder with three different messages. Paint this rustic project using color washes (watered down paints) that show off the character of the salvaged pallet boards or simply with solid colors. NOTE: Pine boards or low-cost fence boards can also be used to make this fun project in lieu of salvaged pallet boards.

Contact local companies that receive larger inventory items such as an appliance store, garden stores, nurseries, and lumber yards. Do a search on craigslist.org using search words “wooden pallets” or “pallets”. Drive through the nearest industrial area.
