Select #1 grade redwood or cedar (knot-free). If you don’t mind the look of knots, use a lower cost #2 grade.

One 2X8 x 6′ long board
One 1X8 x 4′ long board
One 5/4 x 6 x 8′ long board

Saw:
Table Or Circular Saw, Band Saw, Hand-held Sabre Saw
